David Murph

untitled-0415David Murph sings and plays the mandolin for the band, and is no stranger to bluegrass gospel music. He has been playing music since he was only 8 years old, starting with the upright bass and then adding in the mandolin at age 9. Throughout his musical career, he has been blessed to share the stage with many talented bluegrass and bluegrass gospel groups. Namely, he’s had the opportunity to pick with his dad, Andy, as part of the 1974 world champion “Tri-County Bluegrass Boys”. He again joined his dad Andy during the 90’s playing for “The Gospel Strings”, a group that had the pleasure of working with the legendary Doyle Lawson as producer on one of their projects! Family is very important to David. He has been married to his wife Rita since 1978, and they have two wonderful daughters named Gail and Tracy. David and Rita have most recently been blessed with their first grandson, Kash Perry, whom they thoroughly enjoy! David is a member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church, and is proud to say that “God saved my unworthy soul in 1986!” Despite his musical and personal achievements, David will always believe that the greatest accomplishment of his lifetime has been the opportunity to see people and families making decisions to honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
